Project Ayr
A strategy-game prototype exploring generated star systems, ecology, logistics, and large-scale simulation.
Project Ayr grew from experiments in orbital mechanics, ballistics, and ecological simulation. The prototype explored a long-form 4X structure in which players design ships, manage colonies, conduct diplomacy, and encounter civilizations in a universe generated as they travel.
The technical direction used Unity’s Entity Component System and compute shaders to make the simulation substantially more scalable. The solar-system prototype shown here uses full n-body simulation; the game design later moved toward Kepler-style orbits where that fidelity was unnecessary.
